Thank you for considering Excelsior Roofing Co. for your reroofing and repair needs. We are a locally family-owned and operated roofing contractor, proudly serving San Francisco since 1906. As the city’s oldest roofing firm, we carry more than a century of experience, trust, and dedication to quality craftsmanship.
Our tradition of excellence is built on both family commitment and the strength of our team. Mark Powers joined the company in 1972 and became the owner in 1983. His brother, Bill Powers, has been a dedicated Roofer and Estimator since 1979, and his daughter, Rebecca Powers-Chetcuti, brought her talents to the team as Office Manager in 2016. Estimator and Supervisor Eduardo Franco joined in 2006, quickly rose through the ranks, and has since become like family.
We proudly represent a Union shop, employing an average of fifteen roofers—all members of Roofers Union Local 40 San Francisco. Every Union employee has completed, or is currently undergoing, a three-year State-approved apprenticeship training program. An active foreman is on every job site to oversee work and ensure quality, while our entire team stays up to date on the latest safety practices and standards.
We are recognized as specialists in leak detection and take a practical, common-sense approach to solving roofing problems, rather than resorting to aggressive or unnecessary measures.
At Excelsior Roofing Co., we use only high-quality materials, stored in our own warehouse and purchased and paid for before your project begins. We are also proud members and supporters of the Associated Roofing Contractors of the Bay Area Counties, Western States Roofing Contractors Association, and the Better Business Bureau.
Our work and legacy have been recognized by local television and newspaper publications, and we remain available to all press, television, and radio outlets.

Mark Powers
President & Owner - A Daly City native, Mark Powers joined Excelsior Roofing Co. in 1972 and took over from his father in 1983. As President and Owner, Mark has continued to uphold the company’s reputation as San Francisco’s oldest and most trusted roofing business.

Bill Powers
Estimator - Also a Daly City native, Bill Powers joined the family business in 1979. As a roofer, estimator, and brother to President Mark Powers—Bill brings decades of hands-on experience and craftsmanship that reinforce the company’s reputation for quality and reliability.

Eduardo Franco
Supervisor, Estimator & Co-Owner - Born in Mexico and raised in San Francisco, Eduardo has over 20 years of roofing experience. He serves as Supervisor, Estimator, and part-owner. Known for his approachable demeanor and fluency in Spanish, Eduardo helps clients feel informed and confident throughout every stage of their project.

Rebecca Powers-Chetcuti
Office Manager & Co-Owner - Born and raised in Pacifica, Rebecca Powers-Chetcuti joined the family business in 2016. As Office Manager and part-owner, she oversees day-to-day operations and ensures Excelsior Roofing Co. continues its long tradition of trusted service throughout San Francisco and the surrounding areas.

Our experienced crew has been with Excelsior Roofing Co. for an average of over 10 years. Led by our three foremen, Alejandro, Roberto, and Omar, the team is composed of skilled professionals who are proud members of Local 40 and have completed a state-approved apprenticeship program. We maintain a strong focus on safety through weekly safety meetings and ongoing specialized training, ensuring the highest standards of workmanship and professionalism on every project.
